It is a resurfacing machine which is actually a big facing mill. multiple cutting bits on a big wheel which traverses a cylinder head that is fixtured to the machine. I guess they called it a broach because of the multiple cutter bits?

Apr 26, 2019· I would use an indexer/grindall at an angle to a surface grinder wheel and rotate the broach while feeding towards the wheel to generate the surface, much as you have suggested. This could work for the big broaches but the small need a much smaller wheel than I cannot mount on my surface grinder (or on my Cincinnati where I do have all that is needed for this setup).
